Antonio Spiller (violín), Monique Duphil (piano), Jay Humeston (cello)

Born in Argentina, Antonio Spiller had his first violin and viola lessons with his father, Ljerko Spiller, professor of violin and chamber music in Buenos Aires. He made early appearances in chamber music in the United States, South America and Europe, and, supported by the Argentine Mozarteum, made regular appearances as a soloist and chamber musician in South America, after winning several competitions in his native city. After his father, he owes much to Max Rostal, with whom he studied in Cologne for two years on a German government scholarship. In 1978 he was appointed leader of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich. He has collaborated with the Joachim Koeckert Quartet, the Munich String Trio and with the pianist Silvia Natiello-Spiller and cellist Wen-Sinn Yang in the Spiller Trio. He was a co-founder of Ingolstadt Orchestra Academy, making it possible for young musicians to play under conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Kurt Sanderling and Lorin Maazel, as part of a joint foundation with the Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Born in Bordeaux, France, Monique Duphil studied in Paris at the Conservatoire National Superieur with Marguerite Long, Jean Doyen and Joseph Calvet. Graduating with a Premier Prix in piano and a Grand Prix in chamber music, she continued studies with Vladimir Hoebowski and Herriet Serr. Since her Paris debut at age 15 with the Societe des Concerts du Conservatoire, uninterrupted success and recognition have led Ms. Duphil to a world-wide career performing in more than 50 countries throughout the five continents.

Jay Humeston, principal cellist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory. He studied with Leonard Rose, Mischa Schneider, Rudolf Kolisch, and in master classes with Pablo Casals. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestra in North and South East Asia, and has been a regular participant in the Marlboro Music Festival, touring Europe and Israel with Music from Marlboro. With a Rockefeller grant he performed for two years in the Carnegie Hall Evenings for New Music series in New York and has toured widely with Boston Music Viva, of which he was a founder member. He has recorded for Delos the Pulitzer prize-winner Joseph Schwantner's in Aeternam, which was written for him, and Davidovsky's Synchronisms No. 3, and for Marco Polo chamber music by Villa-Lobos.
